Batch converter

Paste a column of numbers and convert all of them in one go. A line can carry its own unit — 5 kg, 12 lb, 1 1/2 in — and that unit wins over the picker, so a mixed list converts correctly without sorting it first.

Accepts decimals, fractions (3/8), mixed numbers (1 1/2), exponents (3.2e-4) and arithmetic (2*(1+7/8)). Blank lines and anything unparseable are reported rather than silently dropped.

Paste some values and press Convert.

How the per-line units work

A line is read as a number followed by an optional unit. The unit is matched against every name, plural, symbol and alias in the chosen category — so lb, pound and pounds all resolve to the same unit, while a unit from a different category is reported as an error rather than guessed at.

Results follow your display settings: significant figures or decimal places, notation, thousands separators and decimal mark. Change them from the settings dialog and press Convert again. Need a regular series instead? Use the table builder →
