Epoxy resin calculator
Epoxy is mixed by a fixed ratio, and whether that ratio is by weight or by volume matters — the two are not the same.

Show the working
- Pour length = 120
- Pour width = 40
- Pour depth = 2
- Resin parts = 2
- Hardener parts = 1
- Resin density = 1.1
- Waste allowance = 10
- volume_cm3 = 120 * 40 * 2 * (1 + 10/100) = 10 560
- Total mixed resin = 10 560 / 1000 = 10.56
- total_parts = 2 + 1 = 3
- Resin part by volume = 10 560 * 2 / 3 = 7040
- Hardener part by volume = 10 560 * 1 / 3 = 3520
- Total mixed weight = 10 560 * 1.1 = 11 616
- Resin part by weight = 11 616 * 2 / 3 = 7744
- Hardener part by weight = 11 616 * 1 / 3 = 3872
- Depth within the usual single-pour limit = 2 <= 2 ? 1 : 0 = 1
Values are shown to six significant figures here; the arithmetic itself runs on exact fractions and is only rounded where a number is printed.

The formula
- volume = length x width x depth x (1 + waste)
- each component = volume x its share of the parts
Mixing by weight and mixing by volume give different answers unless the two components have the same density. Follow whichever the manufacturer specifies.
Pouring deeper than the rated maximum lets the exotherm run away; thick epoxy can reach temperatures that crack or scorch it.
